Last Updated: October 24, 2024

1. Satisfaction Guarantee

At Smart Academic Writing, we strive for perfection on the first draft. However, we understand that academic requirements can be nuanced. If you feel that your paper does not fully meet the instructions you provided, you are entitled to unlimited free revisions. We will work with you until the document meets your expectations and adheres to the original prompt.

2. Revision Period Timeframes

The eligibility period for requesting a free revision depends on the length and complexity of your assignment:

Standard Orders

Papers under 30 pages.

14 Days

after final delivery

Complex Orders

Papers over 30 pages (e.g., Dissertations).

30 Days

after final delivery

3. How to Request a Revision

Submitting a revision request is simple and integrated directly into your order dashboard:

  1. Log in to your account and navigate to the order page.
  2. Do not press the “Approve” button if you need changes.
  3. Click the “Request Revision” button.
  4. Provide detailed feedback. Be specific about what needs to be changed (e.g., “Expand paragraph 3,” “Add 2 more citations,” “Fix formatting in the bibliography”).
  5. Set a deadline for the revision to be completed.

4. Valid vs. Invalid Requests

To keep revisions fair and efficient, we distinguish between corrections based on original instructions and new requests.

Free Revision (Valid)

The writer missed a requirement stated in the original order description. For example: missing a specific source, incorrect citation style, word count not met, or misunderstanding the prompt.

Paid Editing (New Instructions)

The request contradicts or adds to the original instructions. For example: asking for 2 extra pages, changing the topic after delivery, or providing new reading materials that were not uploaded initially. These requests will require an additional fee (re-writing or editing charge).

5. Turnaround Time

We treat revisions with urgency. The standard turnaround time for a revision is 24 hours. However, if your deadline is tight, please specify this in your request, and our team will prioritize your paper.

Note: For complex revisions involving significant rewriting (e.g., changing the research methodology), please allow at least 48 hours for quality assurance.

6. Revision FAQs

What if I already approved the order? +

If you have already clicked “Approve,” the 14-day free revision period begins immediately. You can still contact support to request changes, provided they align with original instructions.

Can I change my writer for the revision? +

Yes. If you feel the original writer is unable to meet your requirements after multiple attempts, you can request to have the order reassigned to a different expert. This may require additional time.

Is there a limit to the number of revisions? +

No. Within the eligibility window (14 or 30 days), you can request as many revisions as necessary until the paper is perfect.

What if I need a revision after the free period expires? +

If your 14 or 30-day free revision window has passed, you can place a new order for “Editing/Proofreading.” We will assign the same writer or a new expert to update the paper based on your new requirements for a small fee.

Can I add new sources during a revision? +

If the sources were part of the original instructions but missed, we will add them for free. However, if you are adding new sources that were not mentioned in the initial order form, this counts as a new instruction and will require a paid editing order.

What if my revision request is urgent? +

While standard turnaround is 24 hours, you can mark a revision as “Urgent” in the dashboard. We will try to prioritize it, but complex changes still require adequate time for quality assurance.

How do I track the status of my revision? +

You can track the progress in real-time through your user dashboard. The status will change from “Revision Requested” to “In Progress” and finally “Completed” when the new file is ready for download.

What if the writer disputes my revision request? +

If a writer believes the request constitutes new instructions, the case goes to our Quality Assurance department. They review the original prompt and your request to make a fair, binding decision within 12 hours.
