The paper seeks to elaborate on how persuasive technology affects the world and thus primarily looks at the impact of social media on identifying personal traits. Notably, social media is a very prevalent online platform, and thus it makes it easily accessible and high influential in determining the traits of diverse people. It is essential to comprehend that the use of social media may not have a comprehensive outline of clear traits as different individuals may have a different lifestyle than the one they portray on social media. However, the vast popular of people use social media to outline their personality and daily activities and thus helping this paper develop comprehensive and justified conclusions. The paper primarily argues that technology and its continued advancement is the key concept that has made it easy to understand people irrespective of their geographic locations.

Introduction

People constantly refer to the modern world as a digital age as it highly influenced by technological advancements. The excessive social media and internet use has stipulated behavioural addiction and thus has led to the development of an essential area to study and understand distinct individuals. Social media addiction and internet addiction share a lot in common and thus stimulate the contemporary way of life for many individuals. The use of social media influence aspects of individuals including emotional stability, openness to experiences, and self-esteem. Therefore, internet use as well as social media addiction define a lot of aspects of people and define how people act or react. Conversely, technological advancements will continue to influence people especially with the millennial highly concentrated on the rampant changes, and thus the social media will continually predict and describe personality traits of individuals. The rampant rise of social media influence continually influences a lot of branches in the world, a move that has seen corporations enact artificial intelligence to understand people and maximize on profits.

Persuasive Technology: Social Media on Identifying Personal Traits

Personality closely relates to the frequency of social media use whether it is for social interaction use or news use. The focus on persuasive technology outlines looking at an interdisciplinary field of research that prioritizes scrutiny on interactive technologies which use social influence and persuasion techniques to influence the traits of people (Bau, 2018). The ultimate goal of persuasive technology is to advocate for certain behaviours. Therefore, the key players try to use different platforms to influence people and determine how they react to certain issues. In relation to the primary topic outlined, the social media outline a crucial platform that can influence the behaviour of people irrespective of their distinctive localities. The argument shows the strength of social media and how it can be used to define the personality traits of individuals.

The consistent and continuous technological growth continues to influence a wide number of people. Therefore, a lot of people have access to the internet, and thus numerous people log in to social media platforms. The use of social media in relation to persuasive technology is highly influential due to the ease in its accessibility and its popularity among a lot of people irrespective of their diversities. Therefore, a person in Sub Saharan region can easily interact with a person in Sydney, Australia. The impact of social media is extensive due to its wide outreach and ease to influence people. People and organizations alike can use diverse persuasive technology tools to improve certain aspects of life that their institutions advocate for. Health institutions can easily opt for these tools as strategies to improve the health of people while other departments can use them to spread their influence and ideologies.

The contemporary world has incorporated persuasive technologies as strategies to spread their influence by coming up with computing insights which develop products ranging from websites to phone software shaped to alter people’s beliefs and behaviours. The use of social media imperatively reaches a vast and diverse range of people and thus makes it easy to incorporate persuasive technology comprehensively. Artificial intelligence seeks to gather information from social media and imperative use to influence the beliefs and behaviours of people. Essentially, persuasive technologies play a role in influencing and persuading and therefore they try to look for ways to intrigue and impress. Therefore, these technologies are implemented in areas such as social media because they have a wide influence on a vast population.

Social Media

Social media outlines one of the most prominent web tools that can be used to understand individuals and also be used to influence them on altering their beliefs and behaviours to conquer with certain expectations — the focus on the social media details is looking at more stable psychological features such as personality qualities that dictate how individuals use the web to connect and interact (Correa, Bachmann, Hinsley, & Zúñiga, 2013). Extroverted persons are more probable to use social interacting sites, video chats, and instant messaging and thus outlining where to look for information on this sample of people (Correa, Bachmann, Hinsley, & Zúñiga, 2013). The use of social media gives people a chance to have a view about the world and to exercise new experiences depending on the information they feed on.

The constant use of social media intends to achieve social satisfaction in different individuals. Notably, distinct people have diverse aims or expectations from using social media, and thus the efficiency of persuasive technology is understanding the diverse goals and finding ways to influence each individual. The traditional methods of communication are slowly being wiped out as people find it easier to interact on the social media than in person. For instance, there are people who have a lot of friends on Facebook while in real life they cannot manage to socialize and make friends. Therefore, the continuous change from a traditional era to a digital age implies that people will be more likely to heed to guidelines on the social media than from a person in a physical form. Persuasive technology understands this change and tries to actualize on it to influence the behaviours of people. The incorporation of artificial intelligence in relation to social media aims to understand an extensive group of people and influence a lot of people on one of the most influential platform-social media.

Artificial Intelligence

The concept of industrialization is often misunderstood as people merely look at the physical developments. However, the world has attained new heights managing to come up with diverse technological advancements that stipulate the modern way of life. The focus on artificial intelligence outlines a section of computer science that prioritizes developing brainy machines that act and respond like humans. Artificial intelligence entails efficiency in learning, speech recognition, planning, and problem-solving. It is a critical part of the technology industry which entails offering these machines with sufficient information and thus offering them the ability to have a human approach to contemporary issues in the world.

The enactment of artificial intelligence can be imperative in collecting data from social media, understanding the traits of individuals, and instigating key methods of influencing people’s behaviour. The focus on persuasive technology outlines a bidirectional focus which entails understanding the social media as a platform where people outline their traits and thus using this information to give them what they require or as a platform where individuals emulate behaviours and practices and thus developing diverse traits to influence their acts and personal traits. Therefore, people can use social media to portray their beliefs and traits or to emulate the behaviours and traits of other people. For instance, the development of diverse pop cultures has seen people embrace diverse practices. The androgynous fashion has been embraced by a wide range of people outlining how pop culture easily influences people and determines how they behave.

Literature Review

Correa, Bachmann, Hinsley, and Zúñiga (2013) discuss the relationship between character and social media use. They argue that people who are open to new experiences are highly likely to use social networking sites frequently. They further insist that emotional stability can act as a negative predictor of social networking site use (Correa, Bachmann, Hinsley, & Zúñiga, 2013). The outlined argument shows that people who have unstable tendencies or who are more anxious may highly rely on these sites. People will opt to ask for advice about certain conditions or situations from the social media platform and thus the emotional status of an individual influence their enactment of the social media. The authors show that there is extensive importance of combining explorations of personality and digital media usage (Correa, Bachmann, Hinsley, & Zúñiga, 2013). The focus on their study outlines the essence of understanding the use of social media and the intentions of people. Consequently, people can use this platform to emulate certain practices and behaviours and thus makes it easy to understand personal traits and the issues that stipulate their attainment. Social media can be used to design political content which will acquire either positive impact in relation to extraversion or a negative predictor in line with emotional stability. The article shows that an individual’s personality can easily influence or be influenced by social media.

Samaha and Hawi (2017) outline a study meant to understand the differences and similarities in the personality characteristics of social media and internet addiction profiles. Their study entailing a sample group of 512 undergraduate students outline that social media influence personal traits, self-construal, and self-esteem (Hawi & Samaha, 2017). The study shows that there are numerous similarities between social media addiction and internet addiction especially in relation to their influences on individuals. Notably, gender, number of friends, posting updates, and independent self-construal predicted social media addiction and thus outlining some of the characteristics determining the use of social media (Hawi & Samaha, 2017). Their study clearly shows that there is a relationship between technology addictions and personality characteristics mainly on the bases of self-esteem, self-construal, and personal traits. Persuasive technology aims to understand these relationships and influences and tries to shape them to achieve certain goals. Therefore, the study outlines a two perspective influence of social media on personal traits whereby the former can be used to influence these traits of people’s traits can be integrated into the social media and thus influencing it and other people. This study outlines the continuous growth in social media and internet addiction and thus pointing out to a continuous path whereby persuasive technologies can play a key role in underlining the behaviours of people.

The world will continue to grow to outline a consistent development of upgrades and crucial incentives that will influence the way of life. Park et al. (2015) outline how the use of automatic personality assessment via social media language influence the contemporary way of life. The study shows a way of understanding people’s personality on social media by using an open vocabulary evaluation of language from social media (Park et al., 2015). The authors argue that the use of language is a psychologically rich, stable personal distinction with well-established correlations to personality (Park et al., 2015). The authors dealt with a sample group of Facebook users using a predictive approach of personality depending on the participants’ language. The study entailed a written language aimed to understand the self-reported big five personality traits of individuals and further using this information to predict the five personality characteristics within a separate sample of Facebook users (Park et al., 2015). The authors show the ease in predicting people’s traits with an easy and quick method of acquiring information from a profound group of participants with a limited burden. The focus shows the impact of social media on the lives of people and thus the ease of acquiring information about individuals’ personal traits without undermining their rights.

Fuchs (2017) talks about social media and what it entails on a global perspective. The book by Fuchs insists that social media can have a collective impact on many fields whether political, economic, or social. The book starts off by recalling the case of Snowden where the latter leaked documents outlining that a British Intelligence Agency monitored and acquired internet data and communication phone data which it shared with NSA. The move showed that the government did not observe the privacy of the people and thus invaded their lives without informing them. The recollection by Fuchs shows the strength or danger of the social media as the acts by Snowden exposed the government and its acts on a global platform. Conversely, the act informed the people of the danger of social media where the government could easily monitor their acts, where they were, what they were planning, and even their most personal activities. Fuchs insists that the social media possess a lot of power and thus it is imperative to try and understand the person who intends to benefit or suffer from the use of the social media (Fuchs, 2017). She insists that the benefits of some people can be defined by the disadvantages of others and thus outlining the essence of understanding when and how to use social media.

Ngai, Tao, and Moon (2015) support the popular belief that social media has revolutionized the lives of numerous people. The rise of influence of the social media within a decade outline a success story of a technological tool that influences a lot of aspects in people’s lives. The authors outline the numerous aspects of social media pointing out at the need to understand the causes and the effects of the implementation and usage of social media (Ngai, Tao, & Moon, 2015). The study takes a unique look by trying to understand the diverse theories that relate to social media such as causal-chain framework and the input-moderator-mediator-output model (Ngai, Tao, & Moon, 2015). The study aims to show the swift growth of social media within a decade and how it has developed to influence the actions and traits of people. The research supports the argument that social media plays a key role in the lives of people and thus outlining crucial incentives that can be incorporated to improve persuasive technology.

Andreassen, Pallesen, and Griffiths (2016) seek to explain the addictive nature of social media and how it recounts to self-esteem and narcissism. Their study shows that the world has embraced the technological era by embracing social media and what it stands for. Their study incorporated a survey covering approximately 24,000 people and thus outlining the strength of the scrutiny. Notably, the study found out that social media addiction stimulated a high level of self-admiration and lower levels of self-esteem (SchouAndreassen, StålePallesen, & D.Griffiths, 2016). The latter can be advocated the fact that people who are addicted to social media tend to distance themselves from other people physically and thus concentrate more on life behind the screen. The authors seek to explain the influence of social media on people, their behaviours and personality traits. The use of social media may be non-problematic, but its extensive use continues to play a key role in the lives of individuals. The authors suggest that the popularity of this leisure activity could be used to outline the traits of people with the study showing that people of lower age, lower income, lower education, narcissism, and lower self-esteem associated with high scores in the Bergen Social Media Addiction. The study crucially offers diverse traits and how they relate to social media use.

Social media can be used to identify personality traits and in the same way to influence people to reason or act in a certain way. Research conducted by Hudson and company shows that social media interactions can impact on consumer-brand relationships depending on how they are used. Companies are always looking for ways to expand their clientele base and develop and maintain a great brand image. Therefore, the efficient use of social media can influence the people and their thoughts on specific brands. Imperatively, the study deals with the United States, the United Kingdom, and France and thus attains a diverse and yet comprehensive study sample. The study concluded that social media positively related to brand relationship quality. People use social media to outline their thoughts on diverse products and services. They make it easy to understand their expectations and their reaction when these expectations are fulfilled or fail to be fulfilled. The research suggests that engaging clients through social media associates with higher consumer-brand relationships.

Social media continues to influence a lot of aspects in the contemporary world and thus outlining the ease of enacting artificial intelligence in gathering data from social media. A lot of businesses prioritize making profits, and thus they have to understand their target audience and to understand them on a personal level to impress them with products and services. A journal article in the Industrial Marketing Management suggests that Business to Business (B2B) organizations pay a lot of attention to social media and use it to promote their firms (Siamagka, Christodoulides, Michaelidou, & Valvi, 2015). There are essential factors to consider when implementing the use of social media on a B2B. However, the impact of social media continues to grow and mainly describe the individuals involved. While trying to find effective social media adoption, it is imperative to consider organizational innovativeness and perceived usefulness. Notably, the focus on social media espousal by Business to Business organizations necessitates understanding people’s personal traits or sampling the target audience and their behaviours. The study insists that image positively influences perceived usefulness and thus shows that the online platform can be used to manipulate people and their views on a firm.

Farnadi et al. (2016) support the argument that social media can be used to classify personality traits. These authors argue that there are many incentives aimed to infer the character of a user depending on their produced content in the social media (Farnadi et al., 2016). They acknowledge that methods vary such as the type of used footprint. Learning algorithms, and the social media setting but this diverse approach aim to understand the users’ traits. The paper essentially looks at the state of the art computational personality recognition approaches in analyzing various forms of social media pulverized truth data from YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter (Farnadi et al., 2016). The study insists that computational personality recognition can identify all the personality characters of a specific user collectively all at once or can identify each trait distinctly (Farnadi et al., 2016). There are a lot of people who spend their time on social media, and therefore they leave a lot of information about who they are on such platforms. The enactment of computational personality recognition tools entails further actualizing on the continuous technological advancement and understand the diverse traits of individuals depending on their acts on social media.

Fox and Rooney (2015) offer key insight on social media use insisting that people develop traits of self-objectification and narcissism in relation to their rate of social media usage. Their study argues that social media influence the personality traits of people and thus social media can easily alter their characteristics. Notably, the study looks at trait self-objectification and narcissism as key to predicting editing photos posted on social networking networks (Fox & Rooney, 2015). The study concentrated of people ranging between the ages of 18-40 in the United States aimed to identify the key trait predictors of using social networking sites. In addition, the study incorporated two forms of visual self-performance looking at a person editing his or her image posted on social interacting sites and posting selfies (Fox & Rooney, 2015). The research outlines how people view themselves by outlining a group which is conversant with taking pictures and posting them without editing them while another group opts to edits their picture in the social networking sites. The evaluation concluded that self-absorption and psychopathy prophesied the number of personal pictures posted while pride and self-objectification projected editing the photos. The scrutiny is imperative in trying to understanding people’s personal trait as it implies observing their actions and their thoughts about their personality and therefore makes it easy to understand the outlined personality.

The International Telecommunications Union Journal produced an article on the importance of Artificial Intelligence in communications networks and services. The article imperatively outlines the importance of appropriately enacting the convergence of machine learning and communications. The outline insists that the contemporary world is witnessing situations where communication systems acquire the profound amount of traffic data that can assist extensively enhance management and design of communication components and networks (Samek, Stanczak, & Wiegand, 2018). The journal article outlines the importance of embracing technological advancements and comprehensively using them. The future promises continuous advancements and thus the move to converge machine learning, and communications will serve to improve the contemporary world. The study points at the capabilities of effective enactment of artificial intelligence in diverse areas and thus outlining its strengths in gathering data within diverse social media platforms. The authors insist that artificial intelligence necessitates an efficient understanding of deep learning models through both visualization and interpretation. Conversely, the inclusion of artificial intelligence in communication services and networks is an innovative incentive that can revolutionize the contemporary world and stimulate better results in numerous fields. Artificial Intelligence is matching up to the technological advancements with expectations of using it to resolve the shortcoming of human resource shortages in various areas and thus outlining its eventual implementation in the mobile industry.

Nadimpalli (2017) shows that artificial intelligence plays a key role in the world influencing consumers and the industry. The essence of her work is to understand the impact of artificial intelligence from a general perspective and then factoring out the technology constellations that relate to social media and communication such as natural language dispensation, perception and machine education (Nadimpalli, 2017). The focus shows that artificial intelligence can play different roles depending on the people ranging from its implication on retailers, health care to its impact on consumers in other fields. Notably, it can be used to improve crime investigation, employment, and at the same time stipulating the personal traits of diverse individuals. The author understands the essence of incorporating key technological incentives in a world that is continually evolving. Therefore, it is important to embrace this new trend in the 21st century and understand how to incorporate it to acquire benefits. The strength of artificial intelligence in gathering data in social media is that it interacts with humans on a personal level and thus makes it easy for them to open up and outline their traits.

A website article by Egorsheva outlines the robust growth in the social media influence suggesting that the growth rate in the number of social media users will only outline the development of other technologies to match up with this growth (Egorsheva, 2018). The article points at the ease of acquiring personal traits from social media platforms through the use of artificial intelligence with a number of approximately 2.5 billion people having a social media channel. Therefore, a high number of people is likely to meet on these platforms rather than in real life. The article shows that social media has already stimulated the development of an alternate reality where people live their lives on social media platforms thereby creating bonds in these fields. The article further looks at how marketing departments globally are centralizing their priorities toward social media. Therefore, in relation to the outlined argument, social media has become an easier platform to interact and understand distinct people. The enactment of artificial intelligence will be important if the growth intensifies.

How Artificial Intelligence Agents Use Social Media Data

Artificial Intelligence agents use social media data to transform aspects of people’s life-their beliefs, practices, and views. From a corporate view, Artificial intelligence agents incorporate artificial intelligence based tools to transform social media marketing (How AI-Based Tools are Transforming Social Media Marketing, 2017). The enactment of artificial intelligence is primarily meant to simplify jobs in the market, and thus the agents try to make sense of consumer data on social media and use it to influence a company’s influence. The social media offers marketers a key platform to spread their influence and acquire a wide clientele base. Therefore, the agents use this platform to understand the diverse clients and their needs and imperatively use this data to impress them further and acquire new clients. The use of artificial intelligence makes use of the acquired data to develop personalized content for each individual and paint a caring image for each individual. The incorporation of advertising in the social media outlines another imperative use of data gathered in the social media. The content is personalized with respect to the data.

Artificial Intelligence agents use the data gathered to leverage the power of social media by using artificial intelligence to respond to challenge rather than allocating all stuff to the continuously growing challenges (Ellett, 2017). The agents are impacting on diverse areas in social media marketing such as content creation whereby there are tools designed to create content. Secondly, the agents impact consumer intelligence via the development of platforms such as machine learning which aims to gain understandings from social and voice-of-customer data (Ellett, 2017). The essence is to filter out the noise and to find interesting and relevant information. Finally, it impacts on the customer service as the agents aim to enact artificial intelligence to deal with customer services issues around the clock rather than overworking staffs. The latter has been influential by the use of chatbot space which outlines a machine either augmenting or replacing what a person does.

The agents use the information they acquire to deal with crises situations especially at a time where social media has gained popularity as a field where people air their grievances in times of crises. Social media is an open communication medium, and thus the agents have promoted the development of social media data analysis methods by enacting machine learning techniques to view and resolve grievances or prevent crises from intensifying (Lazreg, Goodwin, & Granmo, 2016). Therefore, the use of machine learning can be incorporated to deal with crisis status and progression while artificial intelligence can be designed to help responders make the appropriate decisions during times of crisis. Agents can use the social media to identify signs from the people affected by a crisis and communicating with the responders. They use the date they acquire to plan on the appropriate move to take to handle a situation before it intensifies and ensuring that their acts will be beneficial either in the short term or the long term.

Consequently, agents can use the data to deal with critical issues especially on a health care setup. Presently, there is a vast interest in clinical physicians in social media, cloud computing, and big data analytics (Fiumar, Celesti, Galletta, Carnevale, & Villari, 2018). The rapid increase in investment in information and communication technology for health and well-being outlines the need to gather sufficient information to improve the quality of life. Therefore, artificial intelligence plays a key role on social media in ensuring that physicians can understand the conditions of individuals and help them recover from conditions irrespective of their location or organizing treatment methods in good time. The social media incorporates numerous tools such as professional networking, social networking, and content production among others. The artificial intelligence agents have played a key part in influencing the development of healthcare social networking platforms meant to enhance patient care and education. There are potential risks of using the healthcare social networking platforms especially for patients prompted by the distribution of ineffective of poor information. However, the platform intends to improve the quality of care, and thus if they are efficiently enacted, they can promote the health care set-up.

Artificial Intelligence agents use the information they acquire to influence the way of life. The case of Snowden outlines a situation where a person exposed the vile acts of the government to the global community to inform the public and ensure that they come up with incentives to protect themselves. In the same way, the agents can use the information to advocate for essential change or necessary incentives in the world. In case of troubling conditions, the agents can push for change or inform the people of the situation they are in and how to resolve these situations. The rapid evolution of technology has changed a lot of aspects of human communication. The agents should be able to analyze the information they acquire and decide on which information to use and which not to. The thought of artificial agents should relate with the thought of using technology to understand people and come up with incentives to help them in the contemporary world. The agents can use the information for a good course or eventually cause a lot of damage and thus they are granted the power of information.

Conclusion

A lot of people think of robots when presented with the argument of artificial intelligence, and therefore they fail to comprehend what it entails comprehensively. In contrast to popular beliefs, Artificial Intelligence outlines an inevitable technological advancement in the 21st century that will continue to influence the lives of people, especially in social media. The world is at a digital era, and thus a lot of people have already aligned themselves with technological expectations. People can easily use the social media to identify the personal trait of the individual, a move that has seen corporations develop artificial intelligence tools shaped to understand these traits and ultimately use the information acquired to promote the brand image and design strategies to improve efficiency. In conclusion, it is imperative to understand that there is a two face on the aspect of artificial intelligence. It can either stimulate necessary growth and efficiency or doom people to chaos and a sudden decline depending on how it is incorporated in the world.

The Era of Personal Cloud (Personal and Security)

The Era of Personal Cloud (Personal and Security)

Introduction

When it comes to storage and security, Personal cloud provides a realistic approach, one that can be applied to minimize the total space and effort required in storage. This is based on the knowledge that duplication of files in multiple server space, not only becomes monotonous, but it is also expensive to device space. A personal cloud enables the user to develop application, settings and system and only operate on single server space. In fact, this approach enables the development of personal personal cloud services that provide users to orient a multi-devices application; for instance, tablet PCs, Smart TVs, Smartphone, and PDA all running on one central service.

A good Personal cloud is one that enables sharing with optimal risk management approach. In recent times, 3G and 4G technologies are enabling sharing of documents, pictures and videos which requires significant amount of security. Therefore, in order to support and make data sharing available among several multi-devices and improvising of user friendly orientations. However, it is good to acknowledge that in a mobile and resource constrained environment. In any case, the personal cloud acts as model synchronization and the development of protocol and XML based on reconciliation model. Hence, it is vital to agree that data synchronization using a middleware for synchronization. Hence, this approach enables proper development of heterogeneous backend service and as well, enrolls safe data access.

This research will attempt to prove that personal cloud requires safety and proper storage similar to the mainstream personal cloud. The research will firstly examine deployment of personal cloud services storage, costing and security. Secondly, the research will focus on abilities of building personal cloud in a real time environment.

Deployment of Personal cloud services

The delivery of the personal cloud service to the customers involves various steps. In this case, the personal cloud normally availed through private cloud. The private cloud provision involves offering services over the Internet. These are usually known and operated by the main stream service. Some of these services include private services such as email services, online photo storage services and the social networking sites. In other circumstances, personal  services can also be availed via private clouds (Fujitsu, 2013). In the case of a private cloud, the whole cloud infrastructure is solely operated for a personal orientation. In this case, the cloud is managed by the organization’s management or a third party.

However, any information and services offered through the cloud is only availed to the organization. A private cloud entails the sharing of a service among several organizations. These are made available only to those in the classified groups. In this case, the cloud may be owned and operated by the personal cloud service provider. In a hybrid cloud, there is a combination of different techniques of resource pooling. For instance, community and the public clouds can be combined. This is significant since it increases efficiency and saves on costs (Chee, & Franklin, 2010: Chen, et al, 2013).

Personal Cloud and Storage

An emerging technology is any form of conventional technology, which presents new territory through pertinent technological advancements, and thus empowering proper storage systems. In this case, personal cloud is a form of emerging technology because it involves technical innovations that characterize progressive developments within an arena for competitive advantage. Many things characterize cloud computation as an emerging technology. The integration of an advanced information and technology is the first feature. In this case, personal cloud involves the application of computers and telecommunications equipment. These are used to store, transmit, retrieve and manipulate data (Conner, & Williams, 2004).

In the past decades, the storing of data was so complicated and hectic because it had to be stored in physical forms, and also the concept of security became a substantial consideration. This involved manual files which resulted in inconvenience and ambiguity. Besides, it was difficult to manipulate or retrieve the data since it was inaccessible. In many cases, the data was not safe, some of it got lost, and some was distorted making it useless. With the personal personal cloud technology, individuals can easily store data and other information easily. Moreover, people receive other services, which highly assist in the transfer and safe management of data and information (Searls, 2013).

Personal Cloud Security

It is through the emergence of personal personal cloud that the privacy of people has been protected on the internet. For instance, through private cloud, the cloud infrastructure is operated and managed solely: only the specified user can access it. In this case, the organization can choose to manage its infrastructure or choose a trustworthy third party. In the past, cases of identity theft had rampantly increased because any information on the internet relating to a person’s identity was insecure. In this case, people needed a safety mode in which one’s identity could be protected. The technology has instituted various developments aimed at discouraging identity theft (Kushida, & Murray, & Zysman, 2011). People have started implementing the technology since it has proved to be efficient and time saving. Moreover, through personal cloud there is the availability of several social networks. The technology offers different forms of features, but in a single package hence facilitating convenience. The availability of personal networks facilitates communication. This is very vital in the management of organizations and the dispensing of knowledge. As such, personal cloud is an emerging technology, which enhances efficiency and security during data transfer and storage (Chen et al, 2013).

Costing factors

When personal cloud is first applied in the personal , the costs incurred are usually negligible. Perhaps, the personal  will have added a small cloud memory space sold at cheap prices. In some cases, others are even offered free of charge by some personal cloud companies. However, as time goes by, it may require some additional space, which now becomes costly to an individual because it requires additional resources to maintain and manage the cloud space since it grows randomly. Therefore, an personal  that wants to employ cloud technology to store data or information temporarily ends up saving money in the end (Smoot & Tan, 2012).

An individual ensures that substantially from cloud technology by ensuring they optimize on costs incurred by using technology as much as possible. This can be done by running a background check on all companies offering cloud technology services, and then pick out the one with the least cost. The individual should also consider that a central storage facility offer the most eligible features that can be applied in their line of business. This helps the individual to reduce on the cost of hiring IT experts to create and implement these features. In the end, optimization helps personal s, which end up using cloud services for long periods. As a result, an personal  saves on a lot of money that would have been squandered in the end in case a poor decision was made when hiring a cloud technology company (Heaven, 2013: Svantesson, & Clarke, 2010).

Personal s may also profit majorly from personal cloud by implementing features and applications developed. In this case, they should apply them as their own. This plays a big role in the growth of the IT sector of a business that directly affects the efficiency and reliability of the services it offers to its clients. Eventually, an individual using cloud technology may end up buying or leasing some of these features for a greater gain. This also increases the amount of profit the individual earns (Smoot & Tan, 2012).

Storage

The application of personal cloud is cheaper since it attracts the benefits of economies of scale. In this case, maximum output and productivity are achieved using the minimum amount of resources. The traditional means of computing are very expensive as it uses conventional software. The personal cloud is cheaper as it is based on payment, depending on one’s usage of this technology. The system of ‘pay-as-you-go’ is one of the extra cost effective models that have been initiated by the cloud technology. Besides, it minimizes the cost of licensing new software and programs (Mezgar, & Rauschecker, 2014)

Storage Space

Personal cloud offers virtually unlimited storage space for data. The drop box is one of the main features that fall in this category. In this case, the users can store their data in their desired capacity. Moreover, there is an assurance of the data’s security. Users applying this technology have no fear of consuming the available space because of the availability of the unlimited online storage space (Heaven, 2013).

Easy backup and recovery

Through personal cloud technology, data is easily recoverable and easily stored. This is better as compared to storing data in physical devices such as hard drives. In this case, the data can be distorted or totally disappear. From a research carried out, companies using personal cloud, recover from the disaster of data loss eight times faster than those that do not use personal cloud. Therefore, the companies do not have to suffer major financial losses because of losing pertinent data (Moeller, 2013).

Flexibility

Personal cloud is one of the most flexible technologies that exist because users can access data and any other relevant information at any time and from any location. In fact, employee productivity increases since they can perform their jobs from different locations. With an internet connection, the employees can work at any time from any place. This saves on time and costs: employees perform their duties more effectively compared to reporting daily at their places of work (Halpert, 2011).

Automatic Software Integration and Updating

Through the personal cloud technology, computing software, integration and frequent updating is automatically done because service providers ensure that this is realized. In this case, individual processing are saving time because updating of the software consumes significant time. Moreover, the management saves on costs that could be incurred during the updating process. In this case, the funds are used in financing other key projects in the organization that facilitate profit-making ventures (Conner, & Williams, 2004).

Demerits of personal cloud

A major challenge of personal cloud is that it is not flexible: clients using cloud-computing services are entirely dependent on whether they are connected to the internet or not. Moreover, companies, which offer personal cloud, offer their services to their clients via websites. When these websites crash or experience technical hitches, this may end up delaying an individual who need to access their information (Smith, 2013).

Data and information belonging to clients are not completely secure because many hackers try to hack their way into the main servers. Once they acquire access, they may manipulate the information that is personal to clients. This may cause negative publicity of personal cloud services. This may end up scaring many potential clients who could have been considering using personal cloud (Mezgar, & Rauschecker, 2014).

Low storage capacities offered by personal cloud companies. Most companies have a limit to the amount of space in gigabytes they allocate to each customer. More often than not, if a customer wants additional space he or she has to pay an extra amount to the company for the space to be provided to them. In addition, the memory allocated to clients will never be more than their internal memory space. Therefore, they end up viewing cloud computation as a secondary means of storing data. This is currently a major challenge in the world of personal cloud (Moeller, 2013).

Furthermore, personal cloud is relatively slower to access as compared to a real computer memory. Many features in computers are not available in cloud computation. For example, an application that works well when running from computer memory takes a short time to launch. However, the same application takes a long time to launch when operated from a cloud service platform (Fujitsu, 2013).

Organizations suited to personal cloud

For a short period, personal cloud has turned out to be a technology that affects everyone’s day-to-day living because our individual files are stored in the cloud. Most people’s friendships are maintained via the applications that are found in the cloud. There are organizations, which are best suited to integrate the technology of personal cloud in their business: the technology brings better results to the company. One of the organizations best suited is the intercontinental Hotels Group (Gruttadauria, 2011).

In this case, the group is constructing a private cloud environment. This is aimed at moving its core CRM systems off the mainframes and onto the industrial equipment. These types of organizations are best suited because of their market sizes and their level of competition in the industry. For instance, the Continental Hotel Group is an organization that has its customers throughout the world. In this case, the implementation of personal cloud technology is necessary in order to market itself (Smith, 2013: Sanyal, & Iyer Parthasarathy, 2013).

The existence of social network sites like Facebook, Twitter and MySpace is vital in advertisements since they are accessible to any person located at any place on the globe. In this case, an individual can advertise itself and hence increase its customer or market range. This is also pertinent in order to cope up with the increasing competition in the hotel and hospitality industry ((Park, et al 2010). In this case, the organization applies the public cloud infrastructure for application development and testing. This enables it to host the web content closer to its worldwide customers. The organization is also evaluating moving most of its major proprietor systems, including the room reservation software into the cloud (Rob, 2013).

Rehab related organizations are other major organizations where the personal cloud technology is better suited. One of the rehab organizations that have integrated this technology is Rehab care. After the foundation of this group in 1982, it has developed to be the third largest supplier of the acute care, rehabilitation services in the United States (XIE, & Zhao, 2013). The company integrated the technology  to provide a reliable system for capturing the treatment details. These include the therapies applied and the time they took. Moreover, the technology is best suited in such institutions in order to supply the necessary reports and claims to the health insurers (Jaatun, Zhao, & Rong, 2009: Walters, 2012). The development of the end-user devices together with the cloud-based software has turned the company’s traditional business into its current position. Through personal cloud technology, therapists are given an email that is Google-based and productivity suite. Moreover, instead of buying Microsoft office, a therapist can pay $50 a year in order to do all the necessary work. Since it is aimed at its expansion, Rehab care is working on a pre-admission screening application. This is aimed at reducing the tedious paperwork required when adding a new patient (Kavis, 2013).

Personal cloud technology can also be applied by the start-up companies or organizations meaning that the technology is not only applicable for organizations that have already developed their roots in the industry but also for the new ones. ServiceMax and NVoicePay are examples of the start-up companies that have successfully applied this technology. In this case, they rely on the cloud as their basic architecture (Jaatun & Rong 2009). In this case, they run as little of their data center as possible. Through NVoicePay, small businesses have automated their invoice payment. This is something that is still a paper work in most of the small businesses and companies. In this case, the business seems like an individual’s online bill payment from a bank. This contains links to the accounts receivable system (Halpert, 2011).

The personal cloud system provides software that integrates for tracking in which the vendors accept various electronic payments. According to the company, the personal cloud approach keeps the transactions, PCI-compliant because it exposes any customer identity and other sensitive information into the cloud infrastructure (Chee, & Franklin, 2010). However, it relies on the Microsoft SQL Azure cloud platform in order to compute the rest of it works. These include notifying parties of payments and frequent update of the customers’ accounting systems. According to NVoicePay, through the personal cloud technology, there is a significant elimination of costly integration. This is usually the case when there is integration of a local accounting system with an electronic payment system. This is the main expense that most of the small and the mid-size avoid by sticking to the checkbook system (Kumar & Yung-Hsiang, 2010).

Organizations in Abu Dhabi that should employ personal cloud technology

According to research, many companies in Abu Dhabi have not started using cloud-computing technology. However, the research also shows that these companies can benefit immensely by the use of cloud technology. These companies face various challenges that might harm their success in their industry. However, these can be saved and managed efficiently by the use of cloud technology (Kavis, 2013).

The first company that would benefit immensely from this technology is the Abu Dhabi ports company. It mainly deals with managing eleven ports and industrial zones in Abu Dhabi. In order for the company to achieve this, it needs to keep on track with the happenings in every port and industrial zone. It is also responsible for assessing and keeping a record of how this port and industrial zones are faring in terms of trade. Therefore, the company needs a large database in order to cater for the storing of all data exchanges involved in all these ports and industrial zones (Reese, 2009).

The value of personal cloud becomes evident in such a scenario. The company can be leasing a large amount of space from a cloud technology organization, which would help it to expand easily over the years. This can help the company to reduce on the costs that would have been incurred when purchasing new expensive mainframe computers to do the job. Service providers in personal cloud can also create applications to help clients in areas like trading and socializing via online platforms. These will help in connecting people easily and later facilitating trade in the area (Halpert, 2011).

Another company that would benefit is the Abu Dhabi aviation. It is the largest helicopter based aviation company operating over fifty-eight helicopters. Abu Dhabi aviation has recently expanded its operation to over six countries. Some of these include Saudi Arabia, Qatar, India, Pakistan, Brazil and many more countries (Reese, 2009). The company has also recently started engaging in other business activities like airlifting medical patients, air photography excavations and spraying crops in the UAE by using helicopters. As a result, there is rapid expansion of the company. Personal cloud would come in as a handy tool for the company (Gruttadauria, 2011).

An increase in the number of employees and clients is proportional to the company’s growth. For this reason, it needs additional computer storage space to assist it in holding the growing numbers. Therefore, if the company considers on leasing or buying space from a cloud technology firm, it can save a significant amount of money instead of frequently buying new mainframe computers (Breeding 2013). Cloud technology can also help the company to monitor how much money is earned per year. This is by creating a database specific with these details. This will help the company to plan much easily.

I am currently residing in the Northern part of Alabama with my youngest son,  and the rest of my sons are all grown up, and living their own personal lives with their families.  I have a job history of over 25 years-plus, working with the mentally disable and helping others in need as a; Professional School Bus driver, Family Support Worker, Substance Abuse Counselor, Residential Counselor, Private Duty, Home Health Aide, Certified Nurses Aide, and a House Manager & Supervisor. So,I decided that at the ripe age of 56 years old, it was time for; me – to – do “ME”!  So, I went back to college and I received my Associate Degree in Business Management here at Ashford University 4 years ago in 2014 and received my Bachelors Degree in July, 2016—– in Health & Human Services. I am not quite sure the exact professional field I will be in at the moment, but I do know,  that it will be pertaining to “Trouble Young Teenage Girls” and “Me” directing them in the “Right-Direction” of Life! I will be a professional Counselor or Social Worker as I continue my education here at Ashford University, and aiming towards my future goal with my “Masters Degree”  in Psychology which I am currently working on now.I should have completed by Oct. 2018 at the age of 62 years old. Although, after 3 months in college, I decided to drop out and marry my military husband and travel the world with him. I did not regret this once and a lifetime opportunity to travel and see the world. I have visited several Countries such as France, Spain, Holland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Czechoslovakia, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, Bahamas, Jamacia, Grand Cayman Islands just to mention a few, smile. ————————————————————————- Hello! • Hello! Ann! The paper is good but the first 5 pages seem to be redundant. My end goal is to open up an after school program for young trouble teenage girls in the inner city to help guide them in the right direction of life. This passion was placed in my heart as a young pregnant teenager headed in the wrong direction of my life and a very nice social worker helped me to figure out which direction I should take. So, now all I want to do is “Pay-It-Forward” and give back to the community–what–it gave me–“A-WONDERFUL LIFE”!. I want to save another young-trouble-girl–like–someone—“SAVED-ME”! My experience of traveling all around the world will also make me a “GREAT-COUNSELOR” due to the diversity of all the people that I have encounter around the world. I also loved to talk and am a “PEOPLE-PERSON” with great communication skills which comes from {Military-Life). I am very understanding to all cultures because I lived all around the world. Maybe, some of this information I just shared with you can help create a better Portfolio. So, can you please revise it/ Thank you! We have until Sunday

  • P.S. I also married outside of my race so this also helped me to understand other peoples culture and accept it. I am American& Multiracial and my husband was Latin. So, I have so much experience in diversity
