What made you want to pursue pharmacy?
(This course will take an interdisciplinary, integrated approach to cardiovascular disease and will include pathophysiology, medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, and medication therapy management principles material. Students will not only develop knowledge related to therapy and disease, but also will develop professional communication techniques to problem solving related to therapies and learn to provide patient focused drug therapy management. Major areas of emphasis will include but are not limited to hypertension, thromboembolism related diseases, dyslipidemia, coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS),and the medicinal chemistry and pharmacology properties of therapeutics used in cardiovascular diseases. Continued skill development of the clinical assessments associated with multiple disease states and medications will be emphasized.)
