Discussions Instructions

The student will complete various Discussions in this course. Each student will post an initial thread of a 250-300 word count by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Thursday of the assigned module/week for each Discussion. In addition, the student must then post 2 replies of a 150-200 word count by 11:59 (ET) on Monday of the same assigned module: week (Friday for replies in Module 8: Week 8). These discussion boards are intended to be study guides and reflection opportunities.

Each student will post an initial thread following the specific prompt direction by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Thursday of the assigned module: week for each Discussion.

In addition, the student must then post 2 replies by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on the last day of the same assigned module: week.

Discussion 1

Topic: Aerodynamics

Initial Thread: Studying and understanding the physical principles of airplane aerodynamics leads to a more precise and safer execution of flight maneuvers during complex flight situations. What does the Bible say about excellence, accuracy, and wisdom/understanding that relates to the study of airplane aerodynamics? How does this concept fit into your worldview?

Replies: Choose 2 peers and reply to their posts. We can learn a lot from others. Are there any other insights you can provide? Can you provide wisdom to your fellow classmates? Be sure to implement wisdom provided to us through the scriptures in your response.

Discussion 2

Topic: Reflection

Initial Thread: Reflecting on these factors:

  • the characteristics of the atmosphere that you fly in
  • the various aircraft designs of the aircraft you have flown
  • the different flight regimes that you encounter on every flight
  • the unique aerodynamic characteristics of the aircraft in your aviation career

Answer the following questions.

  • What would be the single most important concept that was new to you?
  • Why was it important, and how will it make you a better and safer pilot?

Replies: Choose 2 peers and reply to their personal reflection. We can learn a lot from others who are traveling down the same path or who have traveled the path before us. Can you provide wisdom to your fellow classmates? Be sure to implement wisdom provided to us through the scriptures in your response.
