The selection of a project management approach can be challenging but the main idea is to select an approach that produces the best quality of product or service and creates value for businesses. Many approaches can apply to Valpak’s scenario and the types of approaches need to be evaluated to see the best approach for the scenario. In agile project management, the process is iterative and accommodates any changes which might come up within the project life cycle( Bushuiev & Kozyr, 2020)This approach is the best in case of projects which are complex and involve so much uncertainty. The approach focuses on customer satisfaction and delivering the quality final product to customers. The Kanban methodology helps in the implementation of incremental stages in ta project. The practices of Kanban include the collaborative evolution, use of feedback loops, visualization, and others. The approach is applicable and useful in projects that have small teams and need flexibility.
The best way to approach the Valpak scenario is to implement a hybrid approach that will use both the kanban and scrum methodologies. Valpak’s vision is to deliver value and these approaches will be useful in ensuring that it does so. The company also aims at streamlining the business activities such as office management and online sales. The entity needs to first look at how the two approaches will benefit the business and project management (Ahimbisibwe et al., 2017). The two approaches are dependent on iterative workflow systems. The Kanban approach will increase flexibility in the production of the entity and also minimize obsolescence of the inventory. The adoption of these two approaches will help Valpak position itself as an adapter to change. The kanban will help provide a lens through which projects will be understood and changes will be made to improve performance.
