  • Write on the environmental topic of your choice, something you are passionate about!
  • Be concise, generally 500 -700 words depending on the newspaper.
  • Check online for guidelines for Op-Ed submissions at the newspaper.
  • Be clear, avoid jargon & use acronyms sparingly, if at all.
  • Explain things that are not commonly known.
  • Be respectful of your readers. NEVER underestimate your readers’ intelligence, but recognize that the average reader is not an expert in your topic.
  • Suggest solutions and ways forward!
