Selection methods for international assignees always include an interview, at a minimum. Put yourself in the role of a company executive who is recruiting for a manager who will be working on a 3-year assignment in Mexico. The candidates you are considering all have the required job suitability/technical ability. You need to assess the candidates’ cultural adaptability. Using only the information in Ch 9 and without looking anything up on the internet, give some thought to what you think it will take to be culturally successfully in this job and complete the following:
Prepare 5 open-ended questions you will ask the candidates to assess his/her cultural adaptability. Also provide the desired answer for each of the questions. Open-ended questions are questions that are not answered with yes/no.
Assumptions: None of the candidates have families or partners who need to be considered.
Grading: Each question and answer set is worth 4 points each.
