Write a STRUCTURED ESSAY PLAN/OUTLINE for the following question:
‘Philosophy is the art of dying,’ Socrates tells us in Plato’s Phaedo. Why does he say this, and what does Nietzsche think about this idea? Whose position are you more convinced by and why?

Please use the above essay questions and formulate a Research Portfolio based on the following instructions. I have attached some readings that you may use in the portfolio. The main 2 text to use should be Phaedo from The last days of Socrates by Hugh Tredennick which can be found online and also Beyond good and evil (BGAE) by Friedrich Nietzsche only the Preface & Part 1 (<link is hidden> />
The Research Portfolio must consist of:
1. A bibliography of at least 6 texts that you have read in preparation for writing your Essay, two of which are Phaedo & BGAE Preface and & Part 1.
2. For the 2 (Phaedo & BGAE Preface and Part1) texts that are the most important for the Essay, you will need to write a paragraph summary of the main ideas and arguments, and explain how these will be drawn upon for the Essay (approx. 2 x 300 words).
3. For the remaining 4 texts, you must provide a one or two sentence description of what they are about and why they are important for the Essay.
4. A structured essay plan with dot-points and descriptions for each of the paragraphs that:
a) makes clear your argument;
b) explains how different texts and ideas will be engaged with; and
c) indicates what your conclusion will be.

The other resources are attached to the original instructions.

Your Research Portfolio will need to show the following criteria:
a) the range, depth and relevance of your research, given your chosen topic;
b) your ability to summarize the key ideas and significance of the texts making up your Research Portfolio;
c) the appropriateness and clarity of your plan for the Essay’s structure/argument, with respect to your chosen question
