In the conclusion of Chapter 11, the authors state make the following observation: “Despite continued reports of overwhelming numbers of preventable patient deaths and poor-quality care, formal, systematic quality and patient safety curricula remain lacking in many healthcare education programs across the country.” In your own words, describe what you understand to be the reasons for this challenge of education about safety and quality. Please answer Study Question #2 as well, which asks for you to compare some of the programs that you read about in the chapter for graduate resident training in quality and safety.
