When I was a child, every summer my parents would take us on a short vacation to visit our grandma, but this time it was something different. It was nine summers ago when I was about 9 or 10, my parents told me some exciting news about going on a special fun road trip the following Friday. Surely, my two little sisters and I were very excited because we were not just going on any ordinary road trip but on a special one.

I wanted to know why it was a special trip, so I asked them, and they told me to remain patient until we arrived at our destination and see. For the next couple of days, the curiosity built inside me; I could hardly wait.

Friday finally came; it was a hot sunny day and was time for us to leave to go on this “special trip” that my parents told us about. We started to pack all of our necessary things into the van and was ready for this road trip.

As soon as we were about to leave, my two little sisters started to argue about who should have the last middle seat, and it was chaotic, so my mom took it, and made both of them sit in the back. It was frustrating and took like half an hour before we could finally leave. We hit the highway and onto the freeway. After a few hours, it started to rain down hard and made it literally impossible for my dad to see where we were going, so my mom insisted on staying at a hotel for the night, and we were very excited because we love staying at hotels for some reason.

At the hotel, I would order loads of junk food to the room and watch TV the whole night. Then my parents would tell us a bedtime story before we went to bed, and each one of them would be funny amusing stories. The next morning, we woke up extra early, ate breakfast, and left so we could beat traffic. Along the way, we made it to Arlington, Texas, and my parents surprised me by taking me to the Dallas Cowboys football stadium. I was so hyped because I was able to meet Tony Romo and some of the other great football players, plus getting an autograph from them. After a few hours, it was time for us to leave. I could not thank them enough for the surprise, but they told me that this wasn’t just it.

Back onto the road we went; I took a nap, and after a couple more hours, I woke up and saw that we were in California. I looked around and saw Disney Land from a distance and hoped that’s where we were going because I would have never expected that. My parents said “Surprise”, and I was literally crying when I saw the big beautiful welcome sign. Thinking it was a dream or something so I pinched myself just to make sure it was not a dream and it wasn’t. The time we stayed there, I went on most of the rides and enjoyed myself for the rest of the week. Then it was time for us to leave and go back home wishing it lasted a little longer. This will probably be the best childhood memory I will always remember, The End.
